    The Temporary On-Call Receptionist is a highly visible, customer focused position responsible to provide general office support with a variety of administrative activities and related tasks. This position is a temporary role requiring schedule flexibility to pick-up scheduled and short notice shifts at our Corporate Headquarters. Shifts will scheduled during business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

    Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Operational Risk Management, the On-Call Receptionist completes the following duties:


    • Answers incoming calls on a switchboard in a friendly, courteous and timely manner. Answers questions and directs calls to appropriate person or department.
    • Answers questions regarding job openings and customer’s questions regarding general information as well as referrals to various other departments.
    • Greets visitors in a friendly, courteous and timely manner. Ensures that visitors sign-in and are escorted by employees. Replaces sign-in sheet as needed.
    • Opens and closes reception area daily including turning on TV, DVD, lamps, and unlocking/locking the door.
    • Assists Community Employment & Day Program Participants with Access-A-Ride.
    • Responds to urgent and emergency situations and seeks the appropriate department/supervisor to assist.
    • Notifies employees via email of lost and found items and car issues (lights on, illegal parking, etc).
    • Processes all incoming U.S. mail, deliveries, and schedules FedEx pickups.
    • Makes intercom announcements regarding inclement weather or meeting reminders as needed. Creates and posts signs on doors for business closures.
    • Safeguards and controls confidential and highly restricted information.
    • Builds and maintains effective quality working relationships with internal and external customers. Acts with customers in mind and is dedicated to gaining their trust and meeting their expectations.
    • Uses effective written and verbal communication. Uses good interpersonal skills treating everyone with dignity and respect. Immediately advises supervisor of significant and unexpected problems. Promotes and demonstrates teamwork and cooperation.
    • Completes assignments, projects, reports, and paperwork accurately and timely.
    • Reports any suspicious behavior, incidents of theft, or unauthorized possession/removal of Goodwill property.
    • Follows all Goodwill policies and procedures. Follows safety rules and regulations. Acts safely at all times.
    • Supports the best elements of our corporate culture while making culture change. Open to and supportive of new ideas and process improvement of systems and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the functional and technical skills to perform the duties and responsibilities.


    Ability to communicate with customers and Goodwill employee’s using different forms of communication (Phone, Email, In Person, etc.), while answering multiple phone lines.



    Ability to work with mathematical concepts as it applies to the duties and responsibilities.



    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of MS Word word processing software; MS Excel spreadsheet software; and MS Outlook contact management systems. Proficiency in Internet and general database concepts is preferred.



    Ability to pass a criminal background investigation and e-Verify.
