ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Forklift Operator   

  1. Using a forklift loads and unloads pallets with containers of merchandise from trailers. Loads bales into trailers. Dumps trash container. Moves and stacks pallets of pack away boxes in the storage area. Moves and stacks pallets containing Target merchandise and puts in appropriate place. 
  1. Pallets with containers of merchandise that are stacked in tiers must be blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse. Containers of the same size shall be stacked one upon the other whenever possible. Large containers shall never be stacked on top of smaller containers
  1. Keeps aisles, dock area, doorways, turns and passage ways clear. Keep storage areas free from materials that can cause slips or trips.
  1. Checks fluid levels, battery, hoses, for wear and tear air pressure in tires and any problems should be reported to supervisor.

Walkie-Stacker Operator

  1. Using a Walkie-Stacker, loads and unloads pallets of merchandise and boxes from trailers. Moves and stacks pallets of pack away boxes in the storage area. Moves and stacks pallets of Target merchandise and puts in appropriate place.

 

  1. Pallets with containers of merchandise that are stacked in tiers must be blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse.   1. Ensures that aisles, dock area, doorways, turns or passage ways are kept clear. Keeps storage areas free from materials that can cause slipping or tripping.

Material Handler

  1. Unloads and loads trailers, empties trash, and places raw materials in assigned areas.
  1. Rotates merchandise to ensure first in/first out (FIFO) is followed, covers donations area when needed and loads merchandise onto conveyor belt.
  1. Keeps aisles, dock area, doorways, turns or passage ways clear. Keep storage areas free from materials that can cause slipping or tripping.
  1. Places chemicals and to hazardous materials in its appropriate place.

Baler

  1. Empties clothing into baler and makes bales.
  1. Logs daily bale production on production sheet and totals weekly count on bale production, gives production sheet to manager every Saturday morning.
  1. Keeps aisles, dock area, doorways, turns or passage ways clear. Keep storage areas free from materials that can cause slipping or tripping.

Other

  1. Builds and maintains effective quality working relationships with management, co-workers, customers and donors. Treats everyone with dignity and respect. Immediately advises supervisor of significant and unexpected problems. Promotes and demonstrates teamwork and cooperation.
  1. Completes assignments accurately and timely.
  1. Safeguards all Goodwill property including donated goods. Reports suspicious behavior and any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession/removal of Goodwill property.
  1. Follows all Goodwill policies and procedures. Follows safety rules and regulations. Acts safely at all times.
  1. Supports the best elements of our corporate culture while making culture change. Open to and supportive of new ideas and process improvement of systems and procedures.
  1. Works flexible schedules, overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays if required.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical - Heavy Work Lifting and Carrying objects weighing 20 pounds constantly, 30 pounds frequently, and 40 pounds occasionally to raise objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to- position requiring the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Pushing and Pulling:   Using upper extremities to exert force in order to push, pull, draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion exerting 20 pounds of force constantly, 40 pounds of force frequently, and 75 pounds of force occasionally.
