GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Goodwill Industries of Denver (GID) Assistant Administrative (A2) Manager Trainee is a vital part of achieving Goodwill’s mission. Under the direction of experienced personnel, the purpose of this Trainee position is to gain knowledge and experience required for promotion to Store Leadership position. The Trainee performs store duties focused on customer service, store administrative support and computer processing including analysis of operational metrics and reports, project coordination, training and development t of staff and human resources compliance. This position provides help to the Area Manager and Sales Manager as deemed appropriate. The A2 is the first step in the development of skills and experience leading to retail leadership competencies. The Trainee will display initiative, effort and commitment to carrying out GID’s mission; inspires, motivates and guides others towards goal and acts in a proactive achievement-oriented manner. The position serves as a champion and model of GID’s values – “FACE IT” which incorporates fun, accountability, collaboration, empowerment, innovation and transparency in all that we do.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to exceeding the Retail Store sales revenue and other goals.
  • Leader in problem solving and ensuring day to day customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately prepares and makes recommendations on detailed sales, turnover, customer relations reports and other reports as needed to ensure operational excellence.
  • Processes all invoices, HR Actions, payroll, recruitment actions and new hire on-boarding paper work.
  • Supports store leadership in the training and development of staff, helps with ensuring quality service, merchandising and the cleanliness and organization of the store.
  • Acts as Manager on duty in the absence of the Sales Manager or Area Manager in assigned store.
  • Supports store leadership in verifying register start fund, cash register transactions, paperwork and balancing register at the end of the shift.
  • Takes action and trouble shoots all system and process issues including communication and follows up with appropriate departments such as IT and Human Resources.
  • Uses effective written and verbal communication. Uses positive interpersonal skills treating everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Follows and enforces all Goodwill policies and procedures. Champions and enforces safety rules and regulations. Acts safely at all times.

  • Works flexible schedules, weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical - Light Work:  Lifting and Carrying Raising objects weighting up to 10 pounds constantly, up 20 pounds frequently, and up to 30 pounds occasionally to raise objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to- position requiring the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.  Pushing and Pulling: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward to pull, draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion exerting 10 pounds of force constantly, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 30 pounds of force occasionally.
